Jimena is a starving Ecuadorian girl who wanders through the mountains in search of food. She stumbles upon the garden of an elderly indigenous farmer. Eventually, she steals the last carrot from the garden to survive. Jimena is trapped and locked by the old man in the basement of his home, and she tries to escape by any means necessary, even at the cost of others' well-being.
