Rokuro Okajima, a Japanese businessman who is kidnapped by modern-day pirates while on a business trip and eventually joins their crew, the Black Lagoon Company. The series is set in the fictional city of Roanapur, a corrupt port city in Southeast Asia, where the crew operates as a mercenary and smuggling service, often involved in high-stakes gunfights and missions.
