The Woman in the Yard (2025)

Danielle Deadwyler (Till, The Harder They Fall, The Piano Lesson) portrays Ramona, a woman devastated by the loss of her husband (played by Russell Hornsby; BMF, Fences) in a tragic car crash that she survives. Severely injured, Ramona is left to raise their 14-year-old son (Peyton Jackson; Respect, American Refugee) and 6-year-old daughter (Estella Kahiha; Will Trent, BMF) alone in a remote farmhouse. One day, a mysterious woman (Okwui Okpokwasili; The Exorcist: Believer, Julie Taymor’s A Midsummer Night's Dream) appears in their yard. At first, Ramona believes the stranger may be confused or mentally unstable, but as the woman steadily approaches their home, it becomes evident she is far from ordinary—and her presence is anything but harmless. Now, Ramona must summon the strength to defend herself and her children from a relentless intruder who refuses to go away.
