Disha Patani Bareilly house firing: Two juveniles caught; two attackers killed in encounter

fdsf

Bareilly, Sep — Delhi Police have detained two juveniles in connection with an earlier round of firing outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s family home in Bareilly, officials said, as a multi-state probe continues into the shocking attacks that rattled the city earlier this month.

According to police accounts, the most serious incident occurred in the early hours of 12 September, when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at the Patani family residence in the Civil Lines area. The shooters, later identified as Ravindra and Arun, were subsequently linked to the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang. Following a coordinated operation by police teams from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Haryana, both men were killed in an encounter.

Investigators say the two juveniles now in custody are believed to have been involved in an earlier firing outside the house on 11 September. The Delhi Police Special Cell described the detained suspects as minors and said their questioning represents a major step forward in tracing the sequence of events and the network behind the attacks.

Uttar Pradesh police described the case as a test of their zero-tolerance approach. Additional Director General (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash told ANI that the firing “was taken as a challenge,” adding that such incidents disturb law and order, spread fear among citizens, and directly confront the state’s stance against criminal violence.

Local authorities in Bareilly have moved quickly to reassure the family and the community. SSP Bareilly Anurag Arya said five investigative teams have been formed to probe the matter and that the Patani family’s security is being closely monitored.

Disha Patani’s father, retired police officer Jagdish Patani, publicly lauded the swift police response and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after the encounter. “No matter how much I praise or express gratitude for the Chief Minister, it won't be enough. Today is a living example of the fear-free society he envisioned for all of Uttar Pradesh,” he said. Commenting on the police action, he added that he was satisfied with the security arrangements and the prompt measures taken by officials.

So far, Disha Patani has not issued a public statement about the incidents. Police have reiterated that the investigation remains active, with efforts focused on uncovering the full chain of culpability and motives behind the attacks. Further updates are expected as questioning of the detained juveniles and forensic work on the case progresses.
