Surongo 2 Officially Announced: Afran Nisho Returns as Masud in Raihan Rafi’s Bigger Sequel

Bangladeshi cinema’s blockbuster thriller Surongo is officially getting a sequel. Filmmaker Raihan Rafi has confirmed Surongo 2, and with that announcement, fans can once again look forward to seeing Afran Nisho return as the much-loved character Masud.

The news was shared by Rafi through a Facebook post, instantly creating a wave of excitement among movie lovers. In his announcement, the director made it clear that the sequel will not just continue the story but expand it into a far more intense and ambitious chapter. The project is being developed as part of the growing Raihan Film Universe, with SVF Alpha-I Entertainment Ltd. backing the production.

Released during Eid-ul-Azha in 2023, Surongo turned into one of the biggest Bangladeshi hits of the year. It marked Afran Nisho’s silver-screen debut and earned strong praise for both its gripping story and Nisho’s powerful performance. The film also enjoyed major awards success, winning honours in eight categories at the National Film Awards.

According to the makers, Surongo 2 will pick up the story from where the first film ended, but on a much larger scale. Viewers can expect upgraded production values, advanced technology, and several surprises designed to raise the thriller stakes even higher.
