Salman Khan Superhero Movie: Kareena Kapoor Front-Runner for Raj & DK Film

Bollywood’s latest casting buzz centers on a major reunion that could bring two of the industry’s most-loved stars back together. Salman Khan is reportedly preparing for a superhero film with filmmaker duo Raj & DK, and the newest development suggests that Kareena Kapoor Khan has emerged as the strongest contender for the female lead. Reports indicate that she is in advanced talks for the untitled project and has shown positive interest, though an official signing has not yet been completed.

What makes this update especially exciting is the possibility of Salman and Kareena sharing the screen again after a long gap. If the deal is finalized, this would be their fifth collaboration and their first film together since Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2015. Their earlier pairings in Kyon Ki, Main Aur Mrs Khanna, and Bodyguard are still remembered fondly by fans, and the idea of seeing them reunited in a fresh, high-scale genre has naturally sparked a lot of interest.

According to the latest reports, Salman himself has personally reached out to Kareena to move the discussions forward, which appears to have placed her ahead of other names that had been linked to the role, including Samantha Ruth Prabhu. While the casting is still in the negotiation stage, the tone of the updates suggests that Kareena is currently the preferred choice for the part.

For Raj & DK, this film is also significant because it marks a return to theatrical filmmaking after a long gap. Their recent success has largely come through the streaming space, but this project would bring them back to cinemas nearly a decade after A Gentleman released in 2017. That alone has added another layer of curiosity around the movie.

The timeline also suggests that the film is being carefully planned rather than rushed. Salman is expected to begin shooting around October or November 2026, after completing his current action entertainer with Vamshi Paidipally, which is reportedly being filmed in Mumbai for an Eid 2027 release. That schedule means the superhero project may still be some distance away, but the early casting chatter is already helping it generate attention.
