Asur (2020) is a Bengali-language thriller written and directed by Pavel Bhattacharjee, featuring Jeet Madnani, Abir Chatterjee, and Nusrat Jahan in prominent roles. Inspired by the legacy of renowned sculptor Ramkinkar Baij, the film delves into the complex bond shared by three friends—Kigan, Bodhi, and Aditi.
The story follows Kigan, a passionate artist who sets out to build the world's largest Durga idol at Deshbandhu Park. However, lingering rivalries, personal conflicts, and wounded pride among the friends gradually put his ambitious dream at risk, threatening to unravel everything he has worked for.
