A hunter comes back to North Carolina carrying an enigmatic green case. After his mother passes away, he settles once more into the family house, only to feel his sanity gradually unravel. Haunted by what seem like sacred whispers and disturbing visions, he is unsettled further by his late mother’s handwritten riddles and a series of peculiar visitors. A cable technician, a preserved cat, overly pious neighbors, and even a murderer drift in and out of his life, blending into a darkly comic Southern tale simmering with chaos.
