Johnny, a 13-year-old orphan, helps her foster mother manage a struggling zoo. Their hopes rise with the arrival of Molly, a kangaroo who could bring in the much-needed funds, and Johnny forms an instant bond with her. Meanwhile, a crafty con artist from another state enlists three bumbling thieves to steal the prized animal. Determined to protect Molly, Johnny teams up with a quirky group of fellow zoo kids. With time running out, can they stop the thieves and save the zoo from being taken by the bank?
