Nagasaki, 1964—Following the death of his yakuza leader father, 14-year-old Kikuo is taken in by a renowned Kabuki performer. Along with Shunsuke, the actor’s only son, he commits his life to mastering the classical theatre form. Over the years, the two grow side by side, journeying from training halls to the most prestigious stages, experiencing fame, controversy, loyalty, and rivalry. In the end, one of them rises to become a legendary master of Kabuki.
