The 2021 Tamil sci-fi action thriller Maanaadu revolves around Abdul Khaliq, played by Silambarasan TR, who finds himself stuck in a mysterious 20-minute time loop on the day of a Chief Minister’s public rally. Each time the cycle ends, he dies and wakes up again at the same moment. As the events repeat, Khaliq gradually uncovers a dangerous plot led by corrupt police officer DCP Dhanushkodi, portrayed by SJ Suryah, who plans to assassinate the Chief Minister and trigger communal violence. Trapped in this repeating cycle, Khaliq must use every reset to expose the conspiracy and stop the deadly plan.
