Exiled to Chennai and working as a lifeguard after a devastating fallout, Muthukaali—the legendary lead rower of Ramanathapuram's "Mugavai Maindhans"—left his boat racing days behind. His former ally turned bitter adversary, Sattapuli, now rules the waters with his squad, the "Tsunami Riders," reigniting a brutal feud between adjacent coastal villages. Driven back to his hometown to aid a friend in dire straits, Muthukaali comes out of self-imposed banishment to mentor a ragtag group of local fishermen for a critical, winner-take-all festival regatta.
