Against the turbulent backdrop of religious persecution in 1960s East Pakistan, the film tells the story of ex-freedom fighter Nimai, who escapes to Tripura with his family after his daughter disappears. As they attempt to start anew within an indigenous community, struggles of love, identity, and escalating ethnic tensions converge, bringing heartbreak, remorse, and yet another forced displacement in Nimai’s quest for safety and a place to belong.
