e 17th century, Whelan Newport struck a dark pact with a tormented, ravenous spirit to eliminate the last of the indigenous people and secure his family’s future in colonial New Hampshire, dooming Newport’s Valley to a cursed foundation. In the present day, Kenzie Rhodes visits the town two years after the tragic death of her fiancé. Meanwhile, Bart Blakewell struggles to establish himself as a new business owner in the Valley, facing difficulties fitting in despite the support of the town’s courteous leader, Gregory Newport. Roz Jackson is grappling with financial struggles, which worsen when Bart is forced to cut her hours at the Barn Owl Inn. When a group of hikers climbs the town’s mountain, they stumble upon a hidden cave harboring an ancient evil. As a nightmarish creature begins terrorizing Newport’s Valley, this disparate group of outsiders must unite, confronting the collision of their pasts and present. Matters grow even stranger with the arrival of the enigmatic Munroe, summoned by a family intent on ending the creature’s reign, only to reveal that the Valley may be home to more than one monster.
