Rounding (2025)

After a traumatic event during his residency, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) transfers to a rural hospital seeking a fresh start. Struggling to connect with patients and navigate his new environment, James is advised by Dr. Harrison (veteran actor Michael Potts) to enroll in a course focused on bedside manner and fostering meaningful patient relationships. As James becomes increasingly absorbed in the case of a young asthma patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER RARELY SOMETIMES ALWAYS) with perplexing symptoms, the unresolved traumas of his past begin to resurface. Haunted by unsettling nightmares, anxiety-driven theories, and physical strain, his sense of reality begins to unravel under the intense pressures of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson, in his follow-up to SAINT FRANCES and precursor to GHOSTLIGHT, brings together a talented ensemble of seasoned character actors in this humanist and unconventional exploration of medicine, trauma, and personal resilience.
