Sarah's Oil (2025)

Sarah’s Oil draws inspiration from the extraordinary true story of Sarah Rector, an African American girl born in Oklahoma’s Indian Territory in the early 1900s. Convinced that oil lies hidden beneath her seemingly worthless land allotment, Sarah’s belief proves true. As opportunistic oil tycoons move in to seize control, she relies on her family, friends, and a few daring Texas wildcatters to protect her claim. Her determination ultimately makes her one of the first African American female millionaires in the United States—at just eleven years old.
