Set in 1979, Miriam Basconi is sent to the prestigious Alstroemerias Academy, a boarding school designed for America’s elite orphans. There, she is forced to endure the harsh and cruel rule of the headmistress, Ms. Hemlock. From the moment she arrives, Miriam senses that something is deeply wrong within the institution.
