Swatta (2017)

Swatta follows the story of Sobuj (Shakib Khan), the alienated son of a wealthy family, who falls into drug addiction under the manipulative influence of his avaricious aunt and uncle, eager to claim his inheritance. He crosses paths with Shikha (Paoli Dam), a woman forced into prostitution who had fled to Dhaka after killing a doctor in self-defense to protect her dignity. Despite their harsh realities, Sobuj and Shikha develop a deep bond. Their love is constantly threatened by Sobuj’s relatives, who go so far as to hire a terrorist leader, Don, to eliminate him. The film delves into their fight for survival and redemption amid a world rife with exploitation and crime.
