When middle school theater instructor and struggling writer Doug Leibowitz finds out his ex-girlfriend has moved on with his nemesis—the school's principal—he resolves to get even. To destroy the principal’s chances of securing the coveted Blue Ribbon of Academic Excellence, Doug intentionally mounts an unseemly, highly disruptive musical production.
